WHAT AWAITS YOU IN MOZAMBIQUE?
The long stretches of turquoise coastlines dotted with fishing villages and marine conservation projects makes Mozambique an ideal place for travellers looking for relaxing yet immersive beach holiday. As a largely undeveloped country, Mozambique offers visitors an affordable alternative to its more refined siblings — Seychelles and Mauritius.
Mozambique’s most appealing spots lie just offshore in the form of two idyllic islands known as the Bazaruto Archipelago in the south and the Quirimbas Archipelago located near the Tanzanian border in the north. The region also combines conveniently with the pristine Big 5 game reserves of KwaZulu Natal known as Phinda and Manyoni.
Tourism is a priority industry for the Mozambique and the country is committed to opening up opportunities that harness it's power through sustainable tourism development. In an effort to protect the biodiversity and develop tourism in a sustainable manner, local communities are entitled by law to a 20% share in the revenue from conservation areas. Despite this, wildlife crime has resulted in the loss of at least 48% of local elephant populations while over-fishing has reduced coastal stocks.
